Tourism Laboratory

Tourism Vocational Program is the only Studies program in University of Indonesia, which has three concentrations, namely Travel, Hospitality and Business Event (MICE: Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition). To support the learning activities and support the achievement of optimal learning competencies, the various facilities and adequate facilities is a major concern at this time, whether provided by a vocational program or incorporated with other UI’s facilities. Some of these laboratories as follows:

  1. Travel Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with 24 computers with Windows-based application programs, Reservation System of GALILEO, and AMADEUS, tariff and pasasi document. In addition to the laboratory, Tourism vocational program regularly also build partnerships with various associations of travel (one of which is ASITA: Association of Corporate Travel Indonesia) and travel agency companies that is helping students to apply directly Reservation Systems, Ticketing, rates pasasi documents, customs immigration, quarantine, travel guides practice (Tour Guide) as well as Tour Leader and travel Consultant. Other practical activity is On the Job Training Program and Field Trip Program (Visits to Industry) in order to train students and adapt to the work environment that will be occupied and have the attitude and behavior in accordance with the professional world.

  1. Hospitality & Restaurant Laboratory

This laboratory consist of Front Office, Accounting Hotel, House Keeping, Food & beverage Service, Food Production, Pastry, Bartending and Stewarding, Storeroom. There are partnerships with various associations engaged in the hospitality and restaurant (One is IHRA: Association of Hotels & Restaurants Indonesia) and various laboratories outside the campus so it helps students to apply more both theory and professional practice for on-campus and in the world of restaurant and hospitality industries. Other practical activity is On the Job Training Program and Field Trip Program (Visits to Industry) in order to train students and adapt to the work environment that will be occupied and have the attitude and behavior in accordance with the professional world.

  1. Business Event (MICE) Laboratory

There are facilities for holding a meeting, convention or exhibition. Students can use it for various activities of Event Organizer and business-related activities of other events. Tourism vocational program on a regular basis is also building partnerships with various associations engaged in Business Event (MICE) which are ASPERAPI (Association of Exhibition & Convention Implementation of Indonesia). Other Program is On The Job Training and Field Trip Program (Visits to Industry, visits to events, national and international scale, particularly in the State of Asean and other Asian countries) to allow students to practice and adapt to the work environment that will be elaborated and own attitudes and behavior in accordance with the professional world.

Laboratory of Tourism Vocational Program UI, as well as the main means of practical activities of students that also serve as a applied research and community service.
