Depok – Located at the Auditorium of Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia, the Tourism Study Program with Traveloka and Bukit Vista gave a Public Lecture to Tourism Study Program Students regarding Human Resources competence, especially in the field of Tourism in the gigital era. Currently, the changes in the digital era have been able to change business life and require companies to keep abreast of technological developments in order to stay in line. Present as speakers for the Public Lecture were Jing Cho Yang, CEO of Bukit Vista and Willy Sakareza, Product Manager for Payment Traveloka.

Budiman Mahmud Musthofa, Chair of the Vocational Education Program Tourism Study Program, said that public lectures from industry players were continuously carried out to provide students with insights about the latest trends in the tourism industry. “We present Bukit Vista, a company engaged in the hospitality sector in Bali. Bukit Vista is already capable in the field of home sharing market places with unique properties for travelers so that students can learn hospitality best practices from the experts. In addition, Budiman explained that the presence of Traveloka this time was to motivate students to be ready to compete in the world of tourism, especially in the digital era. “Traveloka is a technology company, one of the content provided is services in the tourism industry. We see Traveloka always prioritizing customer satisfaction and experience, so students need to know what to pay attention to and the skills they must have if they want to be accepted in the world of digital tourism. ” added Budiman.

Jing Cho Yang, CEO of Bukit Vista said in his presentation that the hospitality industry is currently growing rapidly so that companies must be able to innovate. The trend of travel in small groups has been able to bring about innovations for hospitality services and travel services. “It is like Bukit Vista’s vision which is to become the most innovative hotel company in the world by producing unique homes, guesthouses, resorts located in trendy spots. We provide extraordinary value & experience to guests who want to see the real Indonesia, ”said Jing. Jing also revealed that if someone wants to work in the field of travel, what they have to do is be willing to learn, which can be started from studying company culture such as work environment, company vision and mission, values, ethics, and company goals.

On the same occasion, Willy Sakareza, Product Manager for Payment Traveloka explained that various changes have been made by Traveloka, from providing only flight ticket services to now being able to provide more than 10 products including transportation, accommodation, lifestyle, and financial services. we can be achieved not only with money, but with customer satisfaction, ”said Willy Sakareza. Willy also revealed that a student to be successful is to find one’s own abilities. “Find your passion (passion will keep you going when you’re stressed and tired). In the digital era, students must be able to attract the hearts of companies, the most important thing is “What can you do? What skills do you have, not academic ability and academic background, ”concluded Willy.
